An Old Geezer

Monday, March 8, 2010 at 6:57 PM
Went to Evrasia for sushi after Friday class for a little happy meal after a hectic week of studies. A LOT of pictures taken but NONE were mine! Ok just some. Raj's seems to have a new found passion in photography so my toys were spending more time with him.

So i was scrolling along my pictures but nothing was particularly interesting.. except for this old geezer with a banner of the place we had dinner.

Upon arrival, we thought it would be interesting to have a picture with an old geezer having a banner around his neck. So we ask his permission in a nice way but he snubbed us and walk off. At that moment I thought this man was just an unsporting, stucked up and a little of an a$%hole. I mean we just wanted to have a picture with ya.

But after looking back at these pictures today.. maybe I was wrong to judge. Thought I should put myself in his situation to understand. If I were to be in his shoes.. it would be a matter of a simple ego of a man.

Randomly, life is sometimes greeted with a warm cold smile. Whatever that means.

It's snowing once again

After internal disease class (aka i.d.) on Monday, we thought it would be a good idea to have some Japanese udon noodles at Arbat to warm our tummy up. It's been snowing quite heavily for the past 2-3 days if u haven't noticed.

Here's some pictures of the snow journey to Arbat street.

I thought the last picture was interesting. Despite the heavy snow, these street artist continue on with their work hoping to draw customers to their little portraiture booth. I suppose you can always find these artists sketching away at Arbat all season round.

So I guess Moscow's back with the usual weather business! Personally i thought snowing is a tedious matter. I've seen people fall down far too many times when it snows like that. Plus it's so hard to wake up in the morning when its so nice and warm at bed.

But what would Christmas be without some frosting? Global warming.

Next up, dinner at Udonbyasan !

Some weight off my shoulder

Finally cleared a debt I owe for some time. It was a good relief I must say. For all those who made it too today, congrats.

Been snowing a little these couple of days. Winter always gives a rather solemn mood here in Moscow.

Here are some pictures I took with the camera that's always with me, a Pentax Optio M50. In other words, a compact camera. Sometimes it's just a little inconvenient to be lugging a bunch of books plus a dslr. So having a compact really saves u the space plus not missing any interesting shots.

As Chase Jarvis put it, The Best Camera Is The One That’s With You. But if i were to put it myself, it would be The Best Camera Is The One That's ALWAYS With You.

Moscow has finally snowed yesterday! Its rather late this year i think. Not that I was hoping it would. For those who haven't experienced snow, snow = wet, dirty and slippery .. not so pure and innocent afterall.

Of course, there is still always something special about it when it snows. Snowflakes are really cool.

But not to the mayor of Moscow who is no stranger to playing God.
